Active Noise-cancelling Earbuds

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 in Metallic Silver

Sennheiser announced their Momentum True Wireless 4, an upgraded version of the Momentum 3 from last year. This year’s model should have better ANC and transparency mode performance. Bluetooth 5.4, Qi Wireless charging, and USB-C quick charge are also included. The battery is rated for 7.5 hours of continuous playback with ANC off. The ANC on the Momentum line has lagged behind Bose and Sony but they have always dominated in the sound quality department. I’d be interested to see how their ANC stacks up this year. The earbuds will be available in three colors: black copper, metallic silver, and graphite, They will be available to pre-order on February 15th for $299.95 USD / $429.95 CAD.

Samsung’s Concept OLED Earbuds Case

Credit: CNET

Samsung showed off a concept Galaxy Buds with a circular OLED screen built into it. The screen and UI resemble their Galaxy Watch line making an interesting combination of a smart watch and earbud. I think this idea has legs. Essentially, the earbud case becomes a small MP3 player. This allows you to download songs from places like Spotify and stream them directly from the case to your earbuds. This concept could appeal to runners who prefer to leave their phones and smartwatches at home. Unfortunately, Samsung has no plans to bring these to market. A mixture of cost and lack of space for the battery makes this concept non-viable at the moment.

Audio Technica ATH-TWX7

Audio Technica’s latest true wireless ANC earbuds focus on delivering excellent call quality, high-quality sound, and effective ANC. These earbuds have a built-in noise-reduction microphone mode to help with the background noise when taking a call from a busy airport or hotel. The ATH-TWX7 comes in three colors: ash black, rich white, and stone gray. They are on sale now for $199.

Laptops for on-the-go Productivity

Asus Zenbook Duo

Asus Zenbook Duo and all its specifications

The Asus Zenbook Duo is a unique dual-screen laptop that features two screens and a detachable keyboard. Similar to the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i, this design offers users a portable dual-screen setup for on-the-go productivity. The biggest difference between the Zenbook Duo and the Yoga Book 9i is how they decided to execute this concept. Instead of a detachable keyboard, the Zenbook Duo has a detachable keyboard and trackpad that can cover the entire bottom screen. The keyboard is backlit and has a wired connection via pogo pins, minimizing any latency when placed on top of the secondary screen. The Zenbook Duo also had a sturdy built-in kickstand on the bottom of the laptop, making it easy to prop up the dual screens. The laptop is only 3.64 lbs and comes with two 14-inch screens. In terms of performance, it comes with an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU, up to 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The Zenbook Duo costs only $1500 ($500 less than the Yoga Book 9i) and is expected to go on sale in Q1 2024.

LG Gram Pro 2-in-1

If you need a light laptop with a large screen, look no further than the Gram line by LG. The newest LG Gram Pro 2-in-1 sports a 16 or 17-inch OLED screen, Intel’s Meteor Lake processor, and up to NVIDIA’s RTX 3070 graphics for any content creation work. Despite these robust specifications, the 16-inch model weighs just 3 lbs, making it ideal for those constantly on the move. The Gram Pro series will be available in February and start at $1,499.

Travel Accessories

Anker Qi2 Accessories

Anker Qi2 Accessories

Anker just released a bunch of Qi2 wireless chargers and power banks. Qi2-certification means that the charger or power bank will offer 15-watt fast charging capabilities and are fully MagSafe compatible (given your phone supports either). For users with an iPhone 15 or an Android phone that supports 15W wireless charging, these accessories are recommended to minimize charging times while traveling.
