I wanted to try something new since I have recently gotten into film photography. Here are the shots I took on my Nikon F3T that ended up being pretty good. Surprisingly, I was able to get some great shots just on my second roll of film. Be sure to check out my first experimental roll post, with that being said – Film Roll #2 Little Tokyo, Los Angeles

Experimental Film Roll #1

I figured the best way to learn film photography was to just go out and shoot. I didn’t care about getting good shots but focused on playing around with the controls and see what works or don’t work. Here are the shots I took with my very first film roll. I did not expect much at all but I was surprised at how good some of the images came out. With my second roll I was able to get a lot more usable and better photos which can be seen here (will update when the post is up). My advice to anyone starting to learn film I think the best way is to experiment with your first roll. It’s like with any technology you mess around with the device and see what it can/can’t do and move on from there. With film it will be a little harder because you don’t know how it will come out until you process them (usually 1-5 days depending on the place).  Continue reading

Luckily I was able to get ahold of my dad’s Nikon F3T which has probably not been used for 15+ years. Might as well make good use of a beautiful camera. With some new batteries and 4 rolls of film, I began to use the first roll as my experimental roll to become familiar with the controls, exposure, and overall handling of the camera.  Continue reading
