Kodak Portra 400

Kodak Portra 400 is an excellent film but I found the grain too fine with almost a digital feel to the images. Really sharp photos when images were in focus with great color reproduction. It was also my first time shooting film at night which for the most part didn’t go so well. Most of the shots were out of focus and soft.

DIY Camera wrist strap

This past Monday I decided to reignite my creative side by making my own camera wrist strap out of paracord. I’ve been in the market for a wrist strap for a couple months now but knew that it was not necessary when I still have my neck strap. I like to watch random camera accessories on youtube and found a couple DIY camera straps that I definitely knew I could try out on my days off. It turned out to be easy and really affordable! If you are interested in making one, I followed this video.  Continue reading

Black and White Film

Standard

Over the past month, I decided to switch it up and experiment with the Ilford Delta 400 Black and White Negative roll to see how much I would enjoy black and white. While I thoroughly enjoyed the results that came back, I didn’t like how long it took to process the roll. Samy’s Camera is my go-to place to develop my rolls and the process to develop color takes about a day while black and white they would have to ship it out to another place for processing and that takes about a week. That reason alone is why I’ll probably go back to color for now until I find another place that can process black and white a bit faster. It takes me quite a long time before I finish a roll so it would be nice if I could see the results a day or two afterward.

*On a side note, having 36 exposures on a roll is quite wonderful!! You get your money’s worth everytime you process them.
