Back in April, I was able to explore New Orleans for a day alone after an eventful bachelor party. I spent most of my weekend in the French Quarter and Frenchmen Street. However, on my last day, I began my day at Louis Armstrong Park and ended my day at the Garden District. I made plenty of stops along the way and probably walked 6+ miles that day which didn’t feel like much because there was so much to see and limited time. I prefer to walk when I’m traveling rather than request a Lyft or Uber to get to my destination. The reason being is that it allows me to explore every nook and cranny of the city. If the destination is pretty close by I suggest walking if the situation permits so you can get more out of your trip.
New Orleans is quite a unique city that I don’t think can be compared to any other city only because it is rich with history but at the same time always busy and full of life 24/7. The appearance of the French Quarter is really puzzling and changes dramatically once you exit the quarter. It’s hard to explain New Orleans in words, but I would definitely recommend New Orleans as a place to visit at least once. Let’s just say, I have never seen so many elderly couples have such a good time! It may not be for everyone though especially family with kids. Overall, I had a blast and will be back to explore more! (It was my first time exploring a city alone for a day and it went better than expected. Would love to do more solo trips in the future).
Here are just some of the pictures I took during my solo adventure in New Orleans.
